Confederate Veterans Parade Downtown Mount Pleasant
It was reported that so many Confederate veterans attended that almost all of the available food supplies in town were eaten by the second day and the convention broke up. This photograph of a parade during the reunion shows veterans marching down what is now Madison Street, starting at the west side of the Titus County Court House and continuing out of sight in the photo. The building with the pointed roof near the upper right corner of the photo is the Presbyterian Church. A corner of the Merchant's and Planter's Bank, located on the north side of the square, is visible in the upper right corner of the photo.
